Image Tools — FAQ

Are my images uploaded to a server?

+

No. All image tools on FreeBoxTool process files entirely in your browser using JavaScript and the HTML5 Canvas API. Your images never leave your device, so there are no privacy concerns regardless of the image content.

What image formats are supported?

+

All image tools support JPEG, PNG, and WEBP as input formats. JPEG is best for photographs, PNG for graphics and images requiring transparency, and WEBP for modern web use where smaller file sizes are important.

Is there a file size limit for uploading images?

+

Since all processing happens in your browser, the practical limit is your device's available memory rather than a server-imposed limit. Very large images (50 MB+) may cause the browser to slow down. For best performance, process images under 20 MB.

Can I use these tools on a mobile phone?

+

Yes. All image tools are mobile-responsive and work on any modern smartphone or tablet browser. Some operations like cropping may be easier on a larger screen, but all features are accessible on mobile.

Which tool should I use to make an image file smaller?

+

Use the Image Compressor to reduce file size by lowering quality (best for JPEGs). Use Image Resize to shrink dimensions, which also significantly reduces file size. For format-based reduction, use Format Converter to convert a PNG photograph to JPEG or WEBP, which can cut file size by 60–80%.
